Alvina, Founder of Alvina Cookery. Her passion for culinary arts began when she started cooking for her friends & family at the age of 15. After graduating from Columbia University and Georgetown University, Alvina spent 7 years on Wall Street with JPMorgan in New York & UBS in Hong Kong. Passionate about her culinary dreams, she attended Le Cordon Bleu Paris and achieved remarkable results, obtaining 1st in French Cuisine with “Mention Bien” (Distinction). Given her positive influence in food culture through various media, she is now the first disciple of Willie Mark, an internationally recognized food critic.
Alvina is the author of 2 books: “Banquets for the Soul” & “ Alone in Paris – Transforming Perspectives in the World’s Most Famous Culinary School.” Her current works include: Culinary TV host for TVB and Creation TV. Her first TV program “Alvina Cookery” also featured Mr. Frederick Ma, former Secretary for Commerce and Economic Development of Hong Kong; Mr. Edward Yau , GBS, JP, Secretary for the Environment of Hong Kong; Mr. Willie Mark, International Food Critic; Culinary Instructor at Towngas Cooking Centre, Columnist at Angel Heart magazine in Hong Kong & Foodsion magazine in Malaysia.
Alvina’s culinary aim is to simplify French recipes perceived to be difficult, such that even professionals can find time to become “Chef de l’Amour,” showing Love and Care to their loved ones through Gastronomy!
